Slide Won't Move
No movement when you press the switch usually traces to a low battery, a blown fuse, or a failed motor.
Slide room repair for motorhomes and towables across South Hampton Roads
RV slide-out repair in Virginia Beach often comes down to what the beach leaves behind. Sand in the tracks, salt on the gears, and dried-out seals make slides bind, drift out of square, or stop halfway. We come to your campsite or storage lot, find what's holding the room up, and get it moving and sealing again.

No movement when you press the switch usually traces to a low battery, a blown fuse, or a failed motor.
A room that stalls mid-travel is often binding on debris in the track or a worn gear.
One end leading the other points to a sync or adjustment problem, or a broken cable on some systems.
Noise during travel usually means sand in the gears, a stripped tooth, or a dry track.
Water inside at the slide room points to flattened wiper seals or a torn slide topper.
A day at Sandbridge or the Oceanfront brings sand back on shoes, chairs, and coolers, and some of it ends up in the slide tracks and on the seals. Salt air adds corrosion to gears, rails, and motor connections. Together they turn smooth travel into grinding, binding, and leaks, especially on rigs that sit near the water for weeks at a time.
We start with power, since many slide problems are electrical, then check the motor, gearbox, rails, and cable or rack system, and inspect the wiper seals and topper. Sand and debris get cleaned out of the tracks, worn parts get replaced, and the room gets adjusted so it travels square and seals tight. We work on Lippert and other common slide systems on motorhomes, fifth wheels, and travel trailers. Leaks over the room often lead to RV Roof Repair, and low voltage that stalls a slide ties into RV Electrical Repair. It's all part of our mobile RV repair across South Hampton Roads, from Oceanfront campgrounds to storage lots off London Bridge Road.

Many slide systems have a manual override, and the steps are in your RV owner's manual. Follow them exactly, since forcing a room the wrong way can bend rails or strip gears. If the room won't come in or you're not sure which system you have, call and we'll walk through it or come to you.
Sweep the slide floor and wipe the seals before you retract the room, and shake out mats and chairs before they go back inside. Keeping the tracks clean and lubricated per the manufacturer's directions helps too. If you already hear grinding, it's worth having the tracks cleaned before something wears out.
